Born January 3, 1926 in Fort Mill, SC, Betty was a daughter of the late Jessie and Vergie Rayfield. She married Lewis (Reid) Osborne in 1942 and was a devoted wife to Reid until his death after 42 years of marriage. She was preceded in death by a son Marion Reid Osborne.
Betty was a Charter Volunteer for 31 years at CMC-Pineville hospital, member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Pineville Volunteer Fire Department for 25 years and also a volunteer at Pineville Elementary School for the first grade readers for 12 years. Betty enjoyed her membership in the Sassy Red Hatters and her crocheting for the Ernestine Prayer Shawl Ministry. For numerous years she attended the Pineville Senior's Nutrition Program. She loved traveling, her flower and vegetable gardens, crafts and crocheting gifts. She was a great Mother who loved and cared for her family that meant everything to her and we will miss her dearly.
Betty is survived by her sons; Jimmy, Mike (Deanna) and David "Moose", her daughters; Cris, Judy and Debbie, four grandchildren and one great grandchild, a sister Peggy Lambert and a brother Kenny Rayfield (Helen).
A funeral service to celebrate Betty's life will be held at Grace Life Pineville, formerly Stough Memorial Baptist on Tuesday April 10 at 1:00 PM. The family will receive friends at 11:00 until the service begins. A private graveside service for the immediate family will follow.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice Palliative Care, Charlotte Region, 7600 Little Avenue, Charlotte NC or a charity of your choice.
