

Burlin Thomas Craig lll, aka Little Tommy, a resident of Cherryville, peacefully passed away at the age of 62 after a courageous battle with cancer early July 1st. Born and raised in Charlotte, Tommy graduated from Harding High School in 1978.
Tommy spent over 20 years working at Tommy Craig Painting, where he worked painting homes with this father, Big Tommy. Later, he embarked on a new adventure, spending eight years as a dedicated semi-truck driver for a variety of North and South Carolina delivery companies. Tommy was also a Freemason member, part of West Gate #738 Masonic Lodge. His time and commitment earned him the respect of his colleagues and peers.
During his leisure time, Lil’ Tommy found peace in his favorite pastime, fishing on the pier at Topsail Island. The tranquility of the water and the thrill of the catch brought him immense joy and contentment. Tommy was a firm believer in embracing life to the fullest, creating countless cherished memories and making sure to leave a smile on everyone’s face.
Tommy is survived by his loving children, Brittany and Josh Craig, who meant the world to him and who made him so proud. Additionally, his loyal companion, Tucker, stood by his side throughout his cancer, providing unwavering companionship and support.
Burlin Thomas Craig lll, will be remembered as a legend of Halloween, his witty humor, and most of all his ability to make the best of life. His cherished memories will forever live on in the hearts of all those who were fortunate enough to know him. May his soul find eternal peace and be with his mother Nita Craig again in Heaven.
A visitation for Tommy will be held Saturday, July 8, 2023 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Forest Lawn West Funeral & Cremation Service, 4601 Freedom Drive, Charlotte, North Carolina 28208, followed by a memorial service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
