

Bink was born October 8th, 1930, in Durham, North Carolina to Burnice L. Alford and Pansy M Alford. He spent most of his formative years in Greensboro, NC. Bink graduated from Greensboro High School in 1949. He went on to serve in the Marines. Bink attended Guilford College and UNC Law School. For over 30 years, Bink worked for Allstate Insurance
Bink was an avid runner and tennis player. He was a long time member of Rama Swim and Tennis Club and Olde Providence Racquet Club. Bink enjoyed playing bridge and poker. He had a gift for storytelling; his quick wit and memorable jokes could light up any room and he was beloved by all who had the joy of hearing them.
Bink is survived by his wife, Susan; children, Mark of Rock Hill, Emily (Ashley) of Greensboro, Julie (Levi) of Monroe, Scott (Kristen) of Charlotte. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Bink is preceded in death by his first wife, Johnsie.
A service to celebrate Bink’s life will be held June 21st, 2025, at 2:00 pm at Sardis Presbyterian Church, 6100 Sardis Rd., Charlotte, NC 28270. The family will receive friends following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may made in Bink’s memory to Children’s Home Society of Greensboro or Sardis Presbyterian Church.
