Born in Rockland, PA, he was the son of the late Carl Emerson Moore and Rosa Gates Moore.
He served in the US Army and Air Force during WWII and the Korean War and received a Purple Heart and Bronze Star.
Mr. Moore was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and was retired from Westinghouse after 15 years of service. He was also a member of the Masons.
Those left to cherish his memory are his son Robert Gene Moore and wife, Nancy of Pageland, SC; daughter Rose Moore Borja and husband, Michael of Lincolnton, NC; sister, Dee Newhouse of Colorado; 3 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Preceding him in death was his beloved wife of 68 years, Ina Sellers Moore.
A Graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at Forest Lawn West Cemetery with Reverend L. J. Mills officiating. Military honors will be presented by the US Military Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Bethel Baptist Church, 4801 Tuckaseegee Road, Charlotte, NC 28214.
