

Carrine Harrell, 92, of Charlotte, died at Carolinas Medical Center in Pineville, NC on Friday, September 23, 2011. She will be remembered for her fierce independence and courage throughout all phases of her life.
She was born in Martinsville, VA on February 4, 1919 to the late James and Lucinda Stultz. She worked in the retail industry for over 65 years. In 1995 she moved from Greensboro, NC to Charlotte to be closer to her daughter. Carrine retired from Marshall’s in Pineville where she worked full time until the age of 86.
She is survived by her daughter Kathryn McVaney of Charlotte.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Sandra Harrell, sister Elva Dalton and her brothers Melvin, Moir, Walter, Clarence, Frank and David Stultz.
A Memorial Service will be at 10:00am on Saturday, October 1, 2011 at McEwen Funeral Service Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Rd., Charlotte, NC 28210 with Pastor Mark Diehl officiating. The family will have a private columbarium committal Friday at Sharon Memorial Park Cemetery, Charlotte, NC.
