I have just learned of Cecil's death and wanted to let you and the girls know how very sorry I am.  He was such a wonderful person and such a good friend.  I'll never forget our trip to New York and how much fun he had with Mr. Hall and the Ramsey girls.  We had such a good time with him.  His ever present good nature and wonderful smile will always be in my memory.  Please let me know if there is anything I can do for your or your family.

Dear Poplin family:  What an example of Christian living and devotion is exhibited by your family. Bronwyn, Bonnie and Tim, your lives reflect the Christian heritage shared by your father and mother. When I moved to Charlotte many years ago, the Poplin family welcomed and embraced me as one of their own. Mr. Poplin's genteel manner was topped only by his quick wit and sense of humor. His lasting legacy is his beautiful and loving family. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Never have I known a closer-knit family. It has been a joy to know the Wootens and through them, their beloved Pop. His must be the kindliest of faces, a trait passed throughout his family. I had the honor and pleasure of working with Mr. Poplin as a health care provider in his home. He was a kind and gentle man who always made you feel special when you were around him. There was no doubt he loved his family and they loved him. I am so glad he made the trip to Blowing Rock this year with you all. May God bless you all.
