

Charles was born in Howell, Michigan on August 17, 1953. He is survived by his wife, Angela; stepdaughter Keisha Davies; future son-in-law Amador Nieves; brothers John Fawcett (Marilyn) and Raymond Comer (Carol) and a host of nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents Clarence and Ella Comer; brother Robert Smith; and sister Marilyn Muskan.
Charles received his high school diploma from Howell High School and was actively involved with the football team as a guard and also on the wrestling team. After high school, he attended and graduated from Ferris State College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Advertising.
After graduating from college, Charles moved to Chicago, Illinois where he became an art director at Leo Burnett Advertising Agency, where he prided and worked on the McDonald’s Corporation account. During his time with the agency, he transferred and worked in Texas, New York, and Connecticut.
While in Connecticut, Charles became an entrepreneur – owning and operating a graphic design business in Greenwich and a home improvement business in Stamford. Both businesses allowed him to continuously work with his advertising, creative and design skills.
While living in Stamford, Charles met his wife, Angela in April 2008. They married in Stamford in July 2013 and moved to Howell, Michigan until November 2015; then moved to Huntersville, North Carolina in November 2015 to September 2021 where Charles worked part-time at Home Depot and Lowe’s. Charles and Angela settled in Charlotte, North Carolina in September 2021.
Charles also had a host of friends in the Stamford, Connecticut area and the Howell, Michigan area whom he loved to gather with for fun and also to play golf with.
Memorial service is private and will be held at McEwen Funeral home on Saturday, July 2, 2022.
