Charles Reid “Pop” Frazier, 80, of Charlotte entered into the arms of Jesus on December 5, 2011. Reid was born January 22, 1931 in Rocky Mount, NC. He was a proud US Navy veteran who served during the Korean War. Reid worked with Merita Bakery for over 35 years. Instead of retiring, he worked 2 jobs; one with Harris Teeter and the other with Merita. For over 20 years, he coached girls softball for Olde Providence. Pop was a kind, giving soul who would give you the shirt off his back – but don’t ever try to take it from him. Pop and Me Maw did crossword puzzles for over 54 years (but Pop’s was always wrong!)
Reid is survived by his 4 children; Charles R. Frazier LL. Kenneth N. Frazier and wife Kazuko, Cynthia F. Lillis and late husband Jim Lillis and Steven M. Frazier and wife Tania; grandchildren, Reid Austin and wife Amber, Jacob Austin and fiancée Brittany, Kevin Frazier, Katherine Frazier, Matthew Lillis, Michael Frazier and Zack Keller and loving friend, Ebb Buffkin.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 7, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at McEwen Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Rd., Charlotte, NC 28210. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 8, at 11 am at Wesley United Methodist Church, 3715 Rea Rd., Charlotte, followed by burial at Sharon Memorial Park.
