

Born to Mary and Frank Richardson, Chic lived a remarkable life marked by faith, service to his country and kindness to all he encountered. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 69 and a half years, Eleta; his son, Ron; his parents; brothers, Ed and Preston; sister, Jean; and his grandson, Eric Dudley.
He is survived by his devoted daughter, Carol Dudley, and her husband, Dennis; grandchildren, Chaz Dudley and wife Ashleigh and Sean Dudley; great-grandson, Brayden Dudley; and his dear friend and companion, Emily Wilson. Chic was deeply loved by his family and will be remembered as a devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend.
Chic proudly served his country in the United States Air Force as a B-17 bomber crewman during World War II. After his military service, he worked for Southern Bearing and Beck Imports for many years, where his dedication and strong work ethic left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
A man of deep faith, Chic was a deacon, mentor and devoted member of his church. He was also an author who shared his wisdom and love for the Lord through his writing and his daily walk. His unwavering faith guided him throughout his life and remained steadfast until his final breath.
Chic’s legacy of love, kindness, and devotion to God and his family will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
A visitation will take place on Monday, November 10, 2025 beginning at 11am at Albemarle Presyterian Church, 6740 Albemarle Road followed by a celebration of Chic’s life at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Charlotte Memorial Gardens. Military honors will be rendered in recognition of his faithful service to our country. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Purple Heart Foundation in his memory.
