I just saw in the Obits today while looking for another friend named Starnes and saw that Clyde has passed away.  I am so saddened by the news.  I worked at PGPC for 13 years, and Clyde was so kind and sweet to me and was a joy to talk with.  He will be sorely missed.  All my prayers to the whole family.

I am so sorry to hear of Clyde's passing.  He was one of my all-time favorite people and was my MOST favorite neighbor. I will never forget how he loved to embarrass me when I worked for Southern Bell and he, of course, worked for Duke.  He would see me on South Tryon St, whistle and make cat calls at me.  THAT
WAS A LOOOONG TIME AGO.  You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Reading Clyde's obituary along with seeing his picture, gave us a good and clear picture of your father (Dale). I know that you are very proud of him and will miss him deeply. Sounds like he had a full life and was a great man, husband, father, friend, grandpa. We wanted to reach out and let you know that even though we were unable to make it to his funeral, you and your family were in our thoughts and prayers!

My prayers are with this family, I knew them very well and Betty always called  me Patsy...Mr. Starnes help me out with a lot of donations...he would come and pick them up and take them to family's always needy that he worked with...His entire family always put their faith in God...His is one man that anyone that knew him loved him and his family...I remember their 50th wedding celebration at the Church I was their to help out because so many showed up...this shows they were God fearing family...I was proud to know them what an honor...I call Betty at least a couple of times a year just to check on them....they made a big impact on my life...I know he is in heaven...but he is missed...I'm in shock...He was a mentor with youth groups...and he always took time to talk to you...I'm lighting a candle for him and his family...I LOVE THIS FAMILY...and Betty you know how I feel about you were like my second mother...I love our talks...Peace be with you and your family...This was a GREAT MAN!!!GREAT FATHER!!!GREAT HUSBAND!!!

We are saddened to hear about the death of your father. From his obituary - you can tell he was a fine man.  He and Betty certainly raised a highly respected son, Dale.

What a fun and crazy man that Clyde was! We have so many great memories of our families together. I can still remember when my dad could not walk and he would go over every night and carry him from the couch to the bed. Now that is a true friend! He will truly be missed and will always have a special place in our hearts.

We pray for God's grace & peace for all of your family. We were so blessed to get to know Clyde & Betty, Tina & Randy , Amy & Lauren when we were at PGPC. What a wonderful family! We will all miss Clyde, certainly you will miss him the most. You will see him again one day. Wonder what he will be collecting up in Heaven?

Best Scout Master ever! Great memories of summers at Camp Steer.

Uncle Clyde was the funniest guy! He always turned it up a notch with his antics at the reunions back in the day. We will miss him greatly but he is still putting smiles on our faces with his memory! That's a legacy in itself. Many prayers to the family.
