Following graduation, Dan Taylor Elks’ early professional career involved sales in Electrical Distribution, later transitioning into the role of manufacturer representative in the United Association Lighting Corporation. He remained steadfast in this same role for 24 years until retirement.
Dan Taylor Elks met his brunette bride-to-be, Barbara Ann Wellons, in Charlotte, NC. The couple wed on June 28, 1975, welcoming their first baby boy in 1977, followed closely by a second son in 1979. Dan took pride in both of his sons’ numerous accomplishments. He was often heard recounting entertaining tales involving one or both boys. Oftentimes, a picture or two of his sons’ adventures and achievements would make an appearance, further illustrating his unconditional love. Dan cherished family gatherings and family beach vacations, and his joyous spirit with his well-known infectious smile will be missed by all those who loved him and had the privilege to know him as husband, father, family, and friend.
