Charlotte, NC – Dorothy H. Breeney of Middlebury & Charlotte passed away peacefully on February 13 after a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of
James T. Breeney.
Dorothy was born in Waterbury on
June 27, 1931 to the late Cornelius & Mary Holland.
In addition to her husband, she leaves her loving family - a son James and his wife Beth from Charlotte, Grandson Collin from NYC and granddaughters Cari Croom (Dallas) and Kelly from Charlotte. She is predeceased by her brother Cornelius Holland. She also leaves a niece, three nephews and several cousins.
She was so proud of her star status on the Wilby High basketball team and an avid fan of the UConn women’s Huskies. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, knitting, and bingo.
Funeral arrangements will be in Charlotte, NC on Friday, February 23 at St. Matthew Catholic Church at 1:00pm.
