

Edna Baustert, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother & great-great grandmother, passed away peacefully on October 17, 2025, at the age of 94. She was surrounded by her loving family at her home in Charlotte, NC.
Born on July 29, 1931, in Saint Michael, Pennsylvania. Edna was the daughter of Mack and Mary Steele. She grew up and attended school in Apollo, PA. She was the last of 8 Siblings. In High School she found the love of her life, James Paul Baustert Sr.
Throughout her life Edna was a source of unwavering love, strength, and guidance to her family and friends. She married James Paul Baustert Sr. on November 5, 1950 and together they built a life filled with love and cherished memories. Together, they raised 6 children, Deborah Lynn Riedel (Michael, deceased), James Paul Baustert Jr. (Wanda), Mary Margaret Brown, Elizabeth Ann Poole (Tony), Cynthia Elaine Waters (Mark) & Richard John Baustert (Connie) who will forever be grateful for her love and support.
Edna had a passion for bowling, fishing, sewing, crafts, crossword puzzles, putting jigsaw puzzles together, and playing any type of cards or domino games with her family, which she enjoyed with great enthusiasm. She had an amazing memory and was a constant encourager. She loved sharing many of life's lessons with everyone.
In addition to her children, Edna is survived by 17 Grandchildren, 30 Great-Grandchildren and 5 Great-Great-Grandchildren along with many other relatives and friends who were touched by her warmth and kindness.

Thursday, October 23rd at 10:00am friends and family are invited to attend and pay their respects and share their memories.
The service will follow at 11:00am. Graveside immediately following the service at Forest Lawn West Cemetery
