She was born in Mecklenburg County on May 5, 1935 to the late Lillian Osborne. She was a member of Mulberry Presbyterian Church in Charlotte, NC where she loved to sing and loved her church family-especially the children. She was known as ‘Mawmaw’ to all the children around her whether related or not. She loved flowers and spent a great deal of time tending to her flower gardens. She also cherished spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Edna was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Carver Sr.; children, Richard (Rick) Carver, Jr. and Susan Carver; and granddaughter, Ashley Carver.
She is survived by her daughter Beverly Carver Granberry (Brian) of Salisbury, NC; three grandchildren, Brittany Lewis, Shonna Gajewski (Joe), both of Charlotte, NC and Lauren Monks (Jesse) of Fort Mill, SC.; as well as two great-grandchildren, Logan Jenkins and Thea Smith.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to either: Trinity Oaks, 820 Klumac Rd, Salisbury, NC 28144 to show appreciation and honor the wonderful staff who lovingly cared for her with grace and dignity and treated her like their own ‘Mawmaw’- true angels on earth; or Mulberry Presbyterian Church, 5600 Tuckaseegee Rd., Charlotte, NC 28208 – for the church family she loved so much.
