Ellen Caldwell Hagler, age 58, died on Wednesday, April 27 after a long illness, at Levine & Dickson Hospice House of Huntersville, NC. She was daughter of Neal and Alice Caldwell of Knoxville, TN. She is survived by her loving husband of 19 years Wayne Hagler, her parents, her brother David Caldwell (Nancy) of Knoxville, TN, her sister Laura Caldwell Sansbury (Mark) of Florence, SC, daughter Heidi Medlin and husband Bridger, grandchildren Madison and Miles, as well as six nieces and nephews. Growing up in Knoxville, she graduated from Montreat-Anderson College and Queens University of Charlotte N.C. She worked in banking with United American Bank in Knoxville, and Bank of America in Charlotte.
She was a strong Bible-believing Christian who only attended churches that concentrated on teaching the Bible. A Bible teacher of friends and neighbors, she emphasized that you most clearly hear from God and His Spirit by reading His Word directly [deemphasizing commentary] thereby introducing many Christians to His Word. In her extended illness, she stressed to her friends and medical attendants that God was in control, and her life was in His hands to do with according to His time-table. She died peacefully into His hands.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 2:00 PM in the Paul Helton Chapel at Forest Lawn West. Pastor Louis Smith of Life Fellowship Church, Cornelius, NC, will be officiating.
