

Frances Jane Jenkins, age 86, of Charlotte, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on August 24th, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness. Born on February 20th, 1939, in Mecklenburg County, she was the eldest of 7 children to Herman Francis Kruger and Nellie Jane Simpson.
Frances graduated from East Mecklenburg High School in 1958. She was an award-winning Biscuit Maker at McDonald's for several years. Her love for puzzle books, westerns, history, and her passion for raising her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were unmatched and touched the hearts of everyone who knew her. She was devoted to the Lord and attended the Lighthouse Pentecostal Holiness Church of Fort Mill.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years, Edward L. Jenkins Jr, and her children, Sharon E. Lanier (Eric) and Edward L. Jenkins III (Darlene). She also leaves behind her siblings, Herman Kruger Jr. (Tina), Diane Johnson, Cathy Brown, and Jan Ferone (Mike), as well as her grandchildren, Niena Lata (Paul), Dillon Stewart (Alexandra), and Jesse Stewart, and her great-grandchildren, Logan, Leila, and Lucas.
In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by her dear siblings, Candiss Jean Bordner and Randy Kruger.
A visitation for Frances will begin at 10:00 am on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at McEwen Funerals & Cremations at Forest Lawn West and a celebration of her life will take place at 11:00 am in the funeral home chapel, where friends and family are invited to share their memories and honor her legacy. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn West Cemetery. In place of donations, flowers may be sent to the funeral home in her memory. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
