Francis Edward Price Jr.

Charlotte - Francis E. Price, Jr., 86, of Charlotte, passed away on Friday, February 27, 2015 at Sharon Towers. Mr. Price was born September 27, 1928 in Bethel, NC, son of the late Francis Edward Price, Sr. and Addie Lee Grimes Price.

He was a graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill, and following college, he formed Withers-Price and Company, an investment firm. Mr. Price later formed a partnership with Kent Ganzert, representing various investment houses. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, golfing and hiking. Close to his heart was his involvement at Covenant Presbyterian Church, and his enjoyment of delivering meals with Friendship Trays.

Mr. Price was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Carter Price. He is survived by his children, Patricia Price Sturdivant and husband Edward, Susan Price Busch and husband Rick, and James Carter Price and wife Sallie; grandchildren, Reid Sturdivant, Carter Sturdivant, Kelly Sizemore and husband Brett, Josh Busch, Gray Busch, Carter Price, Jr., and Will Price; great-grandson, Brooks Sizemore; and aunt, Margaret Lewis and husband Lew. Also very special in his life are his longtime companion, Katharine Holding and her children, Leigh Dunlap, Pace Holding, Jr., and Margaret Barrett and their families; and his longtime friends and business partners, Kent Ganzert and George Crawford, and their families.

A memorial service will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at Covenant Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends following the service. Burial will be private.
