Franklin Custer Poley II

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Franklin Custer Poley. Born on the 21st of September, 1954 in Charlotte, NC to Horace and Virginia Poley. Frank passed away on the 29th of March, 2026 in Charlotte, NC.

He is preceded in death by his Father, Mother, Brother (Paul), and Sister (Nancy).

Frank is survived by his son Jeffrey Poley (Wife: Lindsey Poley), his daughter Dana Barker (Husband: Todd Barker), and their mother Linda Poley.

He also leaves behind 4 grandchildren: Camden Barker (6), James Poley (5), Cassie Jane Poley (1), and Lawson Poley (1).

Born in Charlotte, Frank attended Myers Park High school and then North Carolina State University, where he attained a degree in electrical engineering.

A dedicated fan of Wolfpack and Charlotte professional sports, Frank also enjoyed fishing at the beach, bowling, watching Science Fiction, and volunteering with the Boy Scouts. More than anything, though, he enjoyed being PopPop. Frank adored his grandchildren and visited with them as often as he could, usually bearing gifts.

Whether you knew him as Frank, Frankey, Mr.Poley, Dad, or PopPop, he was sure to leave a lasting impression. We now carry those impressions in our hearts and help ensure he continues to leave a mark on this world.

A memorial service will be held at McEwen Funeral Home in Pineville, NC at 10:00 AM Saturday April 18, 2026. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you donate to the V Foundation for Cancer Research (www.v.org).
