Friends and Relatives

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 55 years, Dorothy Edwards Shepard.

His faith and his family were priorities in his life. B J was a very active member of Woodlawn Baptist, his church for over 50 years. He served as Sunday School Teacher, deacon, chairman of deacons, church moderator, RA leader, and search committee member. He served on numerous mission trips in NC and on mission trips to Alaska, Ukraine, Poland and China.

Ever devoted to his family, he took two of his grandchildren on international mission trips and most recently helped teach his three teen-aged grandchildren to drive.

He enjoyed working hard and taking on challenges and was a successful entrepreneur, business owner, private pilot and patented inventor.

He is survived by his son; Wade Shepard, and his wife, Cindy, his daughter; Magay Shepard, and her husband Rev. Tim Moore, his grandchildren; Miles Shepard, and wife Megan Montgomery Shepard, Mitch Shepard, Abigail Shepard-Moore, Hannah Shepard-Moore and Michael Shepard-Moore. He is also survived by two great grandchildren, Hayes Shepard and Bennett Shepard.

The family will receive friends on Friday January, 31 from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM at Woodlawn Baptist Church 4622 Nations Crossing Rd. Charlotte, NC 28217 where a service to celebrate his life and his service to his Lord will be held at 2:00 PM.
