.It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Gino Joseph Godbout, who left us on July 24, 2024, at the age of 60. Gino was born on May 13, 1964, in Saint-Jean-Port-Joli, Quebec, and raised in Greenville, NH. He brought joy, fun, and a touch of mischief into the lives of everyone he met. His big personality and big heart ensured that anyone who had the honor of spending time with him has a fond story or two to share.
Gino moved to the South, his chosen home, in his early twenties, where he was a passionate woodsman known for being one of the hardest workers there was. He took immense pride in his trade. His physical strength was second to none, but it was his kindness, warmth, and charisma that truly defined him. He had an incredible ability to connect with people, making each person feel seen and valued. His boisterous laughter was a sound that will be missed. Gino was a NASCAR fan, and enjoyed spending time with countless friends, his dog Zeus, and especially with the love of his life, Joyce.
Gino is survived by his soulmate and wife, Joyce Boyce of Cramerton, SC; his parents, Adalbert “Pat” and Florine Godbout of Exeter, NH; his daughter Tracy Sullivan of Nashua, NH; his sisters, Nathalie Godbout of Exeter, NH, and Tania Godbout of Haverhill, MA; his nephew and niece, Carter and Callie Roepke, of Exeter, NH; and five grandchildren Amiah, Izabelah, Yalianiz, Jahsiel, and Ismael Jr. of Nashua, NH. He also leaves behind his beloved dog, Zeus, and numerous close friends he considered family. Though our hearts are broken, we are comforted by the memories and stories of love, laughter, and fun that Gino leaves behind.
A celebration of Gino’s life will be held at a later date and all that loved him will be invited to share their favorite memories. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Humane Society of York County in Ft. Mill, SC, in Gino's honor.
