Glen Stuart McCullough was born February 7, 1952, the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. George B. McCullough. He grew to a height of 6'4", and with three brothers above 6' to scrimmage with in the driveway, he became proficient in basketball, eventually playing in the final game of the Texas State Basketball Tournament in 1969. Glen first attended college at TCU in Texas and graduated Cum Laude from the University of Houston with a degree in civil engineering.
Hired by Exxon Research and Engineering, he was assigned to work on the first major shale oil project in Colorado. Then he was assigned on a project near Barranquilla, Colombia where he met his future wife, Teresa. When he was assigned to the Baytown refinery's engineering department, he married Teresa and settled in Houston with daughter Stefany. Glen left Exxon to start a construction firm that took him to Charlotte, North Carolina, where he settled with his family that had grown with three more children. The construction jobs took him all over the United States, mostly renovating large hotels.
Glen moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, where he opened a business buying classic cars and restoring them for resale, specializing in Mercedes Benz automobiles. He lived there the rest of his life, dying peacefully in his sleep on October 18, 2017 after fighting Multiple Myeloma for several years.
Glen is survived by his parents, George and Colleen McCullough; three brothers, Greg, Patrick and Michael McCullough; by his son, Glen Carlos McCullough; and his three daughters, Stefany Kushner, Stacy Weis and Nataly McCullough. His legacy also includes seven grandchildren. He will be missed by many.
A celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, November 4th at Harry & Bryant Funeral Home, 500 Providence Road, Charlotte, NC 28207. The family will receive friends following the service.
