Gloria S Edwards (Fowler), 73, passed away Sept 1 after a short illness. She was born in Charlotte, NC November 1, 1943 and graduated from Garinger High School in 1962. She is survived by her daughter Toni Lynn Rowan, Grandson Alex and Granddaughter Sydney of Hernando, MS and her brother George C Fowler, II (Eleanor) of Pineville, NC; nieces, nephew, and great nieces and nephews and great-great niece and nephew. She was predeceased by her father George C Fowler, Sr and mother Jewell Morrison Fowler. Gloria was in retail management all her life and retired in 2012. She loved to sing and wrote poetry and songs especially for her grandchildren and friends. A memorial service to honor Gloria's life will be held on Wednesday, Sept 6 at McEwen Funeral Home in Pineville, NC. Receiving will begin at 1:30pm with service to follow at 2:00pm.
