Gwen Burkardt

Gwen was born June 25, 1977 in Cortland, New York, the only child of Geraldine Ohl Milam and William Milam. She had worked in retail sales for thirteen years and also served as Service Unit Manager with the Girls Scouts of America, Troop 189, where her daughters are members.

The Burkardt family will greet friends Wednesday, August 25, 2010 from 2:00PM until 4:00 PM and then from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at McEwen Funeral Service at Sharon. A service to celebrate her life will be follow at 8:00 PM in the Chapel with The Reverend Carlos A. Velez, First Alliance Church, officiating. Burial will be private in Sharon Memorial Park.

Gwen is survived by her husband, Brian Burkardt of Charlotte, NC; her two daughters, Montana (12) and Madison (10) of Charlotte, NC; her mother, Gerrie Milam of Charlotte and father, William Milam of Summerville, WV; and her extended family and friends with the Girl Scouts of America.

Memorials may be made in remembrance of Gwen to the Girls Scouts Hornests Nest Council, 7007 Idlewild Road, Charlotte, NC 28212.
