Harrison Lee Pratt Jr.

Mr. Harrison Lee “H.L.” Pratt, Jr., 87, of Clover, South Carolina and formerly of Charlotte, passed away on Friday, September 25, 2015 at his residence. He was the son of the late Harrison Lee Pratt, Sr. and Ella Mae Whitley Pratt. Also preceding him in death was his sister, Charlotte, and the love of his life, his wife, Eva Mae Melton Pratt. They were married on January 26, 1963 and remained happily married until her death on April 21, 2008. H.L. went to work for Duke Power in 1944 at the age of 16. He enlisted in the Army Air Force in 1946 and served until 1949. He then returned to Duke Power where he worked for 43 years and 7 months until his retirement. He was presently a member of First Baptist Church in Clover and prior to that, was a longtime member of Garr Memorial in Charlotte where he served as a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, and was involved in the Nursing Home and Prison Ministries. He was a long time member of the American Legion. H.L. served his Savior in many different ways. He was a saint who truly loved the Lord, Jesus Christ.

H.L is survived by his cousin, Billy Griffin and his wife Darlene, of Clover, SC with whom he lived. He is also survived by numerous other cousins.

The family will receive friends at McEwen Funeral Service at Sharon Memorial Park, located at 5716 Monroe Road in Charlotte on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. A Homecoming Celebration will be held in the Chapel of McEwen Funeral Service on Wednesday, September 30 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Dave Stanford officiating. Interment will follow at Sharon Memorial Park with military honors.
