Harry W. Summerville, 70, died Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at CMC-Union. A son of the late Walter Preston Summerville and Lois Beaver Summerville, he was born in Charlotte on July 17, 1941. Mr. Summerville retired from L.B. Smith, Inc. as a heavy equipment mechanic and was a member of Northside Baptist Church. He enjoyed golfing, crafting handmade leather goods, playing solitaire, smoking his pipe and drinking coffee.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at 2:00PM, Saturday, March 10th, at the Derita Chapel of McEwen Funeral Service. The family will receive friends following the service.
Mr. Summerville is survived by his wife, Cheryl Summerville; two daughters, Shannon Brooksbank and husband, Nick, of Monroe, Dawn Summerville, of Charlotte; two grandchildren, Taylor Summerville, Logan Brooksbank, of Monroe and brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws that he adored.
