After retiring from 40 years of food service in many different types of jobs, Helen returned to work in a new and different environment, working for Charlotte Care Services as a caregiver.
Helen is preceded in death by her husband John Richard Broome. She is survived by her son Jack Broome (Wanda) of Myrtle Beach, SC and son Lester Broome of Gulfport, MS; sister Ruby Agnew of Charlotte, NC; brother Walter Jack Harwell of Indian Land, SC; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will take place at McEwen Funeral Service at Sharon Memorial Park, 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte on Monday, May 9, 2016 beginning at 1:00pm. A service celebrating Helen’s life will follow at 2:00pm.
