Henry H. Kahn, 100, passed away on November 21, 2013 in Charlotte, NC. He was born March 19, 1913 in Germany from where he emigrated in 1938. Henry served as a captain in the United States Army in WWII. In 1943, he married his beloved wife of 53 years, Marjorie Jean Gerstman. Margie and Henry moved to Sarasota in 1980 where they were both active at Temple Sinai and volunteered at Sarasota Memorial Hospital for over 25 years. They loved to play bridge and spend time with family. Henry loved to take pictures and was a published photographer.
Henry was preceded in death by his wife, Margie, in 1996. He is survived by his son, Lawrence Kahn and wife, Clara of Trumbull, CT and daughter, Phyllis K. Williams and husband Ronald of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren, Debra Kahn, David Kahn, Melissa Friedberg and Amy Lowery, their spouses and children.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Sarasota Memorial Hospital or Temple Sinai in Sarasota.
