Henry L. Rice passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, August 13, 2015. He was born to the late Felix and Virginia Rice on September 2, 1942. He is survived by daughters, Donna Petrea, Kim Delargy (Michael), and Shelley Green; grandchildren, Chasity Reid (Josh), Christy Smith, Danielle Petrea, Jessica Walker (Justin), and Dane Petrea (Julie); great-grandchildren, Kellen and Addison Reid. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Esther Rice. Henry was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. A funeral service to celebrate Henry’s life will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, August 17, 2015 in the Chapel of McEwen Funeral Service at Sharon Memorial Park, 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte, NC 28212. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Sharon Memorial Park.
