

Surrounded by her loving family, Inez “Jackie” Fletcher, 96, of Charlotte, went on to Glory Tuesday morning, June 27, 2017. She was born in Forsyth County on March 25, 1921, the daughter of Augusta Flippin and step-father, W. S. Flippin. She was a member of Chapman Memorial Baptist Church for over 50 years, was a Sunday school teacher for 45 years, and ran a daycare for over 25 years. Known as “Mama Jackie”, she was a kind, loving wife and mother, and was adored by her children and grandchildren. “Mama Jackie” was very well respected and was often in the kitchen cooking up a meal for her loved ones.
Jackie is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Henry Fletcher. Those left to cherish her memory include son, Michael Fletcher and wife Angela of Paw Creek; daughter, Denise Fletcher Ashe and husband, John of Cullowhee; grandchildren, Yasmine DeCelles and husband Jon, and Brian Fletcher and wife Amanda; and great-grandchildren, Bostyn, Jackson and Jameson.
A service to celebrate Mrs. Fletcher’s life will be held at 2:00pm, Friday, June 30, 2017 in the Paul Helton Chapel at Forest Lawn West; Dr. Harold Fletcher to officiate. Interment will follow the service in Forest Lawn West Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
