James Francis McDermott, 62, of Indian Land, passed away on July 20, 2011. Jim was born on November 7, 1948 in Oneida, NY. Jim worked with Bank of America and most recently enjoyed teaching at York Tech. He loved to travel, he was a true adventurer and also enjoyed to dance but most of all, he loved his family. Jim was an active member at Harrison United Methodist Church and very involved with many groups in Sun City.
Jim is preceded in death by his loving wife of 26 years, Susan McDermott and his brother, William. He is survived by his daughter, Molly Polk of Seattle, WA; sister, Barbara (Daniel) Waccard of Ft. Mill, SC; brother, Daniel (Marie) of Oneida, NY; niece Christine Colistra and nephew John Waccard.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, July 24 at 3:00 pm at Harrison United Methodist Church, 15008 Lancaster Highway, Pineville, NC 28134.
