My heart saddens to think of worship without Jim's finesse on the keyboard. He made the keys sing effortlessly which lifted our spirits to new heights. Truly, his talent was a gift from God! And, his gentle temperament always soothed my soul. I appreciated his kindness towards my parents, Bobby and Jean Ross, who are, undoubtedly, singing along with him in heaven now!

He was very gifted in playing the piano and being a music director. I met him at Paw Creek Ministries when he was our music director there.
I know he used to call me quite a bit after he left PCM to go back to his church in Charlotte and then we got out of touch. He will be sorely missed

Dear Possinger Family,

Jim has been a friend of our family for probably 47-48 years. He has played for many weddings, parties, jam sessions, and was Minister of Music at Church of God of Prophecy for many years before going to Eastway.   He has borrowed our girls to sing in his productions and our boys to play instruments!  We just always planned our programs with Jim on piano or organ!  We are shocked that he had to leave us this early in life, but God knows best for all of us. We know Jim loved the Lord and used his talents for Him.

I remember so much life with Jim in it! We shared a birthday and we always talked on our day,  I’ll never get over him telling me how he loved sharing this day with me. I honestly don’t know life without Jim Possinger in it from being a very little girl and always being at church playing the organ or piano. He was an amazing pianist not one song I can remember him not being able to play. My dad and he shared a great friendship as well, I can remember many times My dad helping with the building of his home, joking, singing and oh the jam sessions. I have a feeling they are doing it again together in Heaven! Jim played not only my wedding, my mom’s 70th birthday party but he also played my Daddy’s funeral! I can’t remember a time where Jim said no, he always answered the call, always willing to help and always family to me! I will cherish the Memories and miss him greatly! Well Done Jim Well Done

Jim was an incredible person. So talented and full of God’s Love for ministry and people. Jim was my friend and brother and we worked together in ministry at Eastway Church of God for many years. Jim on the piano with such talent as he played so incredibly. He was a “Master at the Keys” and an incredible leader of worship for The Lord. I so enjoyed our friendship and times worshiping and Praising God together at Eastway Church of God. Jim had a compassionate heart and loved ministry to others. He was a man who loved Jesus and allowed Jesus to work in his life. I will miss my dear friend and look forward to the day I see my friend again in Heaven one day soon. My prayers to his family that God will be close to them and give them peace and strength during this time of sorrow and loss!!

To The Possinger Family:
I was saddened to hear the news of brother Jim's passing several days ago.  My heart goes out the Possinger family as brother Jim will be truly missed by so many of us who loved him.  He will be remembered for that contagious smile and the love, care and compassion he had for his church family and friends, as he lead us in worship, in spirit and truth, playing the beautiful traditional hyms that we so loved.   As a flautist, several years ago, brother Jim & I provided music for Eastway COG's "Spirit Care Breakfasts" and for the annual Outreach Care Christmas events that Eastway used to provide for seniors  from  various  nursing homes &  rehabilitation centers in the area.  Brother Jim's piano skills  always intrigued me during  Sunday morning worship services at Eastway, especially the way he "tickled" the keys on that piano.  My connection with brother Jim was his love of music  and the kindness & encouragement that he extended to me, in playing my flute.  Truly, he was a man of God. Heaven has gained another precious musician  and his musical talents will be much appreciated when he plays in that Angel Band.  

Rest in Peace, Brother Jim.  You will always be remembered by those who loved hearing you play!

I enjoyed getting to know Brother Jim at Eastway COG.  He was so kind. One time when I locked my car keys in my trunk after church services. He treated me to lunch and then took me home to get a spare key and took me back to the church. This launched my admiration and that he exhibited authentic Godliness and went the x-tra mile with a smile.  I wish I had known him better but his music was a blessing.  Sorry for everyone's loss, especially his immediate family and close friends.

Jim Possinger was an amazing person, great friend, outstanding musician, and most importantly a servant of our lord.   He was a kind and caring person.  He gave of his talents without hesitation.  Along with my wife, Michele, it was an honor to have Jim play our wedding in 1990.  We are lifelong musicians, and we could not have had a better musician, person or friend honor us in this way.  Thank you again, Jim.

We will miss you.  We will treasure our memories with you.  We will see you again in the presence of our lord in Heaven.

I was blessed to know Jim and be his neighbor for 30 yrs. He was more than a neighbor, he was family. I will always cherish the times I had with Jim. He was there for me and my daddy through the good and bad times. Jesus truly got an Angel when he took Jim home. I'll miss you and love you forever. I'm sending prayers to his family. May God hold y'all tight through this 🙏

Our beloved, lifelong family friend left this world to go be with his Heavenly Father. While Jim will be missed by all who knew him, were blessed to have had him in their lives, shared extraordinary experiences with him, Jim’s faithfulness and devout love of the Lord will forever be memories for those of us left behind. Rest in peace good and faithful servant. We will meet again.
