James graduated from J.S. Wright High School in 1968. He later was drafted into the US Army on October 13, 1968 where he fought in the Vietnam War until being honorably discharged on October 14, 1970.
James was a loving, caring, devoted family man who loved his family unconditionally. There was nothing he wouldn’t do for his family or anyone he came into contact with. He was truly the life of any party. We all will miss everything about him. His passing has truly devastated everyone who knew and loved him and he will be missed unconditionally.

Lyons of Charlotte, NC, Mr. James Stanley Spencer, Jr. of Abbeville, SC, Mr. Ronnie Spencer (Melissa) of Abbeville, SC, Mr. Jovon D. Spencer of Abbeville, SC, Mr. Joshua L. Spencer of Charlotte, NC; three step-children, Melissa Brooks and William T. Brooks of Abbeville, SC, Latoya Thompson of Charlotte, NC; three sisters, Mrs. Rosa Bolden, Rev. Icy B. Gaymon and Sarah Spencer all of Abbeville, SC; two brothers, Mr. Johnny Spencer, Jr. and Willie Spencer (Mary Ann) of Abbeville, SC; six brother-in-laws, Melvin, Gregory, Aljr, Dennis, Troy, Allen; five sister-in-laws, Cathy, Yvonne, Shannon, Deidre, Sharon; 12 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, great-nieces, nephews, great-nephews and loyal friends.
