

Jane, the daughter of Roy and Ruth Canup England, was born in Charlotte, NC on November 13, 1935.
Jane worked various secretarial jobs including managing the pipe organ repair business for her husband George “Lee” Collins. Jane was involved with her bowling leagues, as den mother for the cub scouts, she was the neighborhood mom who bandaged the scraped knees and sent the children off with a popsicle. She volunteered her time chaperoning school events and loved hosting neighborhood parties.
Jane is preceded in death by her husband, George “Lee” Collins; her twin brother James and sister Rena, her brothers Bobby, Ralph, and Rusty; and her nephew Scotty England.
Jane’s in-laws adopted her as one of their own and she loved them all dearly. She is survived by her sister-in-law Shirley Gregory and preceded by her in-laws Eunice and Guy Collins and brothers & sisters-in-law Wade and Barbara Collins, Ethel and Paul Gillespie, Frances Ellis, and Billy Gregory.
Jane is survived by her children Peggi Collins and her two sons, George L. Collins, Jr. (Beth) and Jim Collins; her granddaughter Melissa Collins (Wil); and a host of nieces and nephews from both sides of the family whom she cherished and treasured, as well as many other extended family members.
A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, September 12, 2025, at Northside Baptist Church, 333 Jeremiah Boulevard, Charlotte, NC. Visitation will begin at 10:00am with the funeral service beginning at 11:00am.
Interment will follow at Sharon Memorial Park in Charlotte, NC.
