Mrs. Emler was born in 1923 in Clairton, PA to the late John and Anna Wilson. After graduating from college she taught elementary school before marrying the late J. Frederick Emler and moving to Charlotte.
Jane retired from the North Carolina Employment Security Commission. In 2012, she decided to be near her family and moved to Arbor Landing at Ocean Isle, where she met many wonderful people she cared deeply for. Jane loved to travel, eat out, work crossword puzzles, and loudly root at football games, especially when the Steelers or Panthers were playing.
Mrs. Emler is survived by her son, Jaye Emler and daughter in law, Alana Thompson, both of Holden Beach, NC; granddaughter, Nikki ThompsonConnell, of Supply, NC; and “adopted daughter”, Marion Porter, of Charlotte.
A graveside service will be held in Charlotte on Friday, April 7, 2017 at 11:00 am in Sharon Memorial Park, with the Reverend Erik S. Johnson officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the American Lung Association or the Lower Cape Fear Hospice.com.
