So sad to hear of  your passing, I and my sons Kevin and Kyle were patients of Jay. in the 90’s. we became great friends, My husband Wally died in feb 2023 who enjoyed Jay a lot, I hope they are both sharing jokes together with Craig as well

We worked together for many years when I was a teenager and young adult.  I cannot thank you enough for all the support you provided me and my family. You helped me through many difficult periods of transition and growth. You also inspired me to be the person I am today. I am happy report that I currently work as a pediatric psychologist at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia helping youth with mental health needs. I enjoyed sharing patients and staffing cases with Jay for a number of years when we both had offices down the hall from each other in Matthews, North Carolina. Jay was an enthusiastic and creative problem solver with his patients. He had a great sense of humor and a wonderful laugh. He will be missed.

I have only known Jay for a little over 3 years but it seems like I have known him a lifetime.  We became very close and dear friends.  He was a man of notable intellect and integrity; he could talk to you about any subject. He never met a stranger.  Jay was a man of a thousand stories and two thousand jokes.  Our hearts go out to Evan, Alicia, and Vinny.  “Grief is the price we pay for love”, and Jay was all about love!
   


Jay was always so kind and just made you feel great when you were around him.  I will miss his wit and zest for life, even when life was hard. Sending thoughts and prayers to his loved one.

Growing up with Jay in the same Brooklyn apartment building brings back tons of memories, especially during our teen years. Even though he usually beat me at cards and always got the girls the laughs never stopped (and hey, his parents had the first color TV in the building).

Margie and I will miss Jay, especially his laugh and endless stream of “ashtray” jokes.

My deepest condolences to Evan and the entire Kirsh Family on this monumental loss, and a heartfelt hug to my dear cousin Alicia, who lovingly cared for and supported Jay in friendship and with compassion during his last days.
Due to geographical distance, my husband Mark and I had the pleasure of Jay’s company just a few times; but, each time we saw him, he lightened our hearts with his expansive repertoire of jokes and quips.  Although my memory is foggy on his many jokes, my heart will never forget Jay’s lightness of spirit, the positive outlook that belied his age, and his sharp wit.
May Jay’s memory be a blessing to all who remember the positive difference he made in the world.

We miss Jay around our building ..he was always smiling and happy to talk to anyone!! He loved every dog in the nuilding. Amd he totally adored his son Evan and always looked forward to his visits...our condolences to all of his family!

Jerry and I have wonderful memories of the fun times we have had with Jay over the years.  There was never a time that he didn't have a good joke for us, and even if it wasnt such a good joke, Jay would always laugh at it, which would make us laugh!!!  He was a very good and caring friend and we will miss him so much.

One day we'll see him again, we hope!!!!

We will  miss the witty and humorous emails of an intelligent fellow and good friend.
We spent the last Thanksgiving together and from now on we will remember him  and Alicia seated at our table and enjoying good food and good memories. Farewell dear Jay, maybe you are now chuckling  the way you used to with your friend Monte Spellman someplace where we all finally will meet again.

I was saddened to hear of the passing of Jay.  I remember his love of the children he treated in his practice, his enthusiasm for life, his great sense of humor and his love of animals. He liked to travel and visited many wonderful places.  Jay will surely be missed by all. I send love and prayers to his family and friends.
