Jean taught elementary school in the Durham County schools, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, Charlotte Academy/Kiddie Korner Day Schools, and art at St. Anne Catholic School. Jean pursued her love of art and pottery at Clayworks Studio in Charlotte.
Jean was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband of forty-five years, Robert Lee Eagle; three children: Jeffrey Cole Eagle and his wife, Julie, of Los Angeles; Lisa Eagle Robinson and her husband, David, of Monroe; Mark Davis Eagle and his wife, Jen, of Atlanta; eight wonderful grandchildren: Sam, Xander, Luke, Emma, Griffin, Jake, Noah, and Eli; her sister, Edith Elizabeth Davis; her brother, Mitchell Webb Davis and his wife, Linda; her mother-in-law, Sylvia Ingram Eagle; her sister-in-law Diane Eagle Kibler and her husband, John; her nephew, Gregory Edward Davis and his wife, Stacie; her nieces, Donna Marie Davis and Stephanie Kibler Shepard and her husband, Lee; three great-nephews: Tyler, Dylan, and Owen; and many, many cousins and a multitude of friends.
While her vibrant spirit will be missed and our hearts ache to spend time with her again, it was her love of friends and family, love of travel, love of a good hug and a big belly laugh, and her love of life that we will carry with us. We will remember her name and say it forever.
Following a private burial at Sharon Memorial Park, a memorial service will be held Wednesday, August 18th, at 11am at First United Methodist Church. After the service, the family will receive friends at a reception in the Fellowship Hall.
