Jeanne (Griffin) Pentland

Jeanne Griffin Pentland, a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2025 at the age of 98. Jeanne was born in Wallingford, CT on January 17, 1927, the daughter of Daniel and Mary Blair Griffin. She was a loving and compassionate woman who touched the lives of all who knew her.

Jeanne is survived by her children, Kate Eaton, Amy Tripp (Tony) and Elaine Brooks (Chris), her daughter-in-law, Leslea Pentland, six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Francis and Robert, her sister, Eleanore, and her two sons, Blair Thomas and Brian Andrew.

The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude for the care and comfort provided by her caregivers at The Blake at Baxter Village and Providence Care Hospice. Their kindness and compassion were a great comfort to Jeanne and her family.

A family celebration of life will be held at a future date. Jeanne will be interred in her family’s plot at St. John Cemetery in Wallingford, CT.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Providence Care Hospice, 500 Lakeshore Parkway, Rock Hill, SC 29730.
