Jerry, 92, passed away Tuesday, September 28, 2020 at Novant Hospital in Huntersville. He was attended by the wonderful hospice and ICU staff. Born November 9, 1927 in the Bronx, NY he was the son of Cy Prisyon and Irene (Bleiweiss) Prisyon.
Following graduation from Brooklyn Tech High School, he attended the University of Illinois and remained a huge fan of Fighting Illini football and basketball for life. He took over the Cy Prisyon Company from his father in in 1950 and continued to run this successful business until 2019.
Jerry met the love of his life, Sallie (Dick) Prisyon on Labor Day of 1956. They were engaged on Halloween of the same year and married in July of 1957. They had two daughters; three grandsons; and one great-grandson.
Jerry was truly one in a million. He was a man of many interests and hobbies. He taught bridge, traveled around the world without ever flying, loved all things trains and food and wine. Jerry and Sallie relocated to Cornelius from Long Island NY in 2018.
He is survived by his wife, Sallie; two daughters, Donna Galinsky and her husband, Bruce of Cornelius, NC, and Debra Prisyon and her partner, Stephen Garrett; three grandchildren, Matthew Galinsky and his wife Lauren of Austin, TX, David Galinsky of Pittsburgh, PA and Zachary Tobias of Old Saybrook, CT; great-grandson, Everett in Austin; and sister, Maxine Warshaw of Santa Barbara, CA.
