She was a wonderful mom and homemaker. She owned The Oak Bench in Matthews from 1985-1995 and she continued to work with her customers, friends and family to share her passion and enjoyment of creating beautiful homes.
The joy of Mimi’s life was her family. Her favorite enjoyment of life was spending time with her grandchildren and their many events. She would get in her BMW and travel to the beach or anywhere where the grandkids were. She loved to entertain and share fun times with her dear friends! When not traveling, she loved to invite her friends over and enjoyed fellowship with the “Bunco Babes”. Jibby was the friend everyone needed during a challenging time. She was always there with her close friends when their loved ones were sick. She was that shoulder to cry on or that kind ear to listen to help them move forward. She had such a deep love for her dogs. Coco, Teddy, or Wiley was always close by her side, and she always baked you a wonderful pound cake.
For all of us that were close to Mimi, we always loved her zest for life. We can all strive to use her as a great example of how to get the most out of life, share your joy for living and touch as many people possible in such a positive way. She will be greatly missed and we are all better off for having her in our life for as long as we did.
