John, 77, of Fort Mill, South Carolina passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2019.
Born August 24, 1942 in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, John was a son of the late Andy and Helen Dudich Andrejko. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Paula Bell Andrejko; his daughter, Allison; and his son John (Emily), all of Charlotte; and three adoring grandsons, Reed, Evan and Maxwell. John was preceded in death by his two brothers, George and Andy.
Following graduation from McKeesport High School, John furthered his education at West Virginia University where he earned a Master’s Degree in Secondary Education. His career with Bethel Park School District began in 1970, where he served primarily as an assistant principal of Bethel Park Senior High School until 1998. His students at Bethel Park, who lovingly referred to him as “Mr. A” and “Jumpin’ John”, credit him and his towering presence as being a stern, yet fair, father figure. He and Paula relocated to South Carolina in 2009, to be near their family and grandsons.
John has been a lifelong member of the Catholic church, as well as a volunteer with numerous community service organizations, which include Lions Club, Kiwanis, Serra Club, St. Gregory Men’s Club, and the Bethel Park Public Library Board. He was a founding member of St. Gregory Byzantine Catholic Church in Upper St. Clair, Pennsylvania. He also attended St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Charlotte, North Carolina and was most recently a member of St. Phillip Neri Catholic Church in Fort Mill, South Carolina. His passions included loyalty to WVU and Pittsburgh sports teams, expertise in unique craftsmanship, and the companionship of his four-legged friends, Fletcher, Foster, Jack and Cody.
