John David Karlesky, Jr. crossed over into eternal life with our Heavenly Father on Saturday, 9/11/2021. He is survived by his wife, Donna Karlesky, son John David Karlesky III (Jessica), son Andrew (Sarah), daughter Nicole (fiancé Craig), son Christian, sister Dori, and sister Sharon. He also leaves behind grandchildren, Avery, Aiden, Audrey, Olivia, and Jacob Karlesky. He is also survived by his in-laws, Albert and Elizabeth Sullivan.
John was born in Brooklyn, NY, raised in Stamford, CT, and graduated high school in St. Petersburg, FL at Northside Christian School. He graduated college from the University of South Florida and began a career as a Certified Public Accountant Eckerd Corporation in Largo, FL later transitioning to a role in marketing. He then moved to North Carolina to work for Lowe's Home Improvement for 15 years before retiring in 2016. He was passionate about his family, traveling the world, playing poker, and enjoying his retirement life to the fullest. His most recent trips included Ecuador, Iceland, China, Italy, London, Paris, and one particularly special trip with Nicole to Israel for Easter week in 2019. He also had the privilege of being on his oldest son's first ever commercial flight as a pilot. In May of 2021 he had the opportunity to celebrate his son, Christian, as he graduated with honors from High Point University.
John was beyond proud of all of his children and grandchildren talking about them often and fondly. His presence in the lives of his family and friends will be truly missed.
A memorial service in Charlotte, NC will be determined for a future date.
