Jonathan Davis “John” Fairley, beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2025 after a courageous battle with leukemia. He was born on August 29, 1969 to David Alexander Fairley and the late Mary Virginia Farr Fairley.
John was born and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina. He graduated from Myers Park High School in 1987, and went on to attend Lees-McRae College. Throughout his life, he was known for his warm heart, adventurous spirit, and easy smile.
John was an entrepreneur, starting his own landscape business and retail store. He spent much of his career in sales and management with heavy construction equipment, where his dedication and hard work left a lasting impression on colleagues and clients alike.
He enjoyed riding motorcycles, spending time in his garage working on anything with wheels, and appreciating fast cars and the thrill of the open road. He loved music, the beach, fishing and exploring new places, and embracing every adventure that came his way. John also had a playful, silly side that could brighten any room and bring joy to those around him.
Above all, John loved his family. His happiest moments were the ones shared with them, and his kindness and laughter will be remembered by all who knew him.
John will be forever missed, but his spirit, love, and memories will continue to live on in the hearts of those he touched. John is survived by his loving wife, Laurie Fairley, and by his two cherished daughters, Ashley Fairley Schumacher (Nik) and Mary Virginia Fairley. He is also survived by his father, David Fairley (Beverly), his sister-in-law Jean Fairley, his brother Bill Fairley (Dalinda), and his nieces Taylor, Sara, and Jessie.
