
Karen H. Pridmore, age 78, beloved wife of Ronald G. Pridmore for over 62 years, of Charlotte, NC, passed away peacefully at home on November 16, 2024, after a long illness, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on December 20, 1945, in Charlotte, NC, Karen was the daughter of the late Elizabeth and William Hoover. She graduated from dental assisting school at Central Piedmont Community College and went on to work for several dentists before retiring.
A devoted member of Derita Baptist Church, Karen was actively involved in her community as a member of the Community Watch Group, Red Hat Society, and Bunko Babes. She was a lifelong resident of Charlotte, where she and Ronald built a loving home for their family.
Karen was a devoted wife and mother who cherished every moment spent with her family. In addition to raising her three sons, she maintained her career as a dental assistant. Known for her light-hearted spirit, loving nature, and great sense of humor, Karen found joy in both the beach and the mountains, often sharing those experiences with her loved ones.
She will be remembered most for her love of people and her gift for conversation.
In addition to her husband, Karen is survived by her three sons: Tony and his wife Julie of Concord, NC; Brian and his wife Shannon of Huntersville, NC; and Andy and his wife Jennifer of Stanley, NC. She is also survived by her sister, Bronla Waltman of Redding, CA; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother, Bill Hoover.
Karen's family wishes to express their deep gratitude to the Hospice staff for their exceptional care, as well as to friends and neighbors for their many acts of kindness and support during her illness.
The family will gather for visitation at 3:00 PM on Saturday, December 14, at McEwen Funeral Home of Derita. A memorial service will immediately follow at 3:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Novant Health Hospice.
