Laura Laxton Carter

Laura Laxton Carter, 85, of Charlotte went home to be with the Lord of November 5. Born in Lenoir, NC on November 26, 1929 to the late Robert Hill and Nellie Evelyn Laxton, she was a longtime resident of Charlotte. Laura enjoyed a career in accounting. She was an avid golfer and longtime proponent of animals and animal rights. She was also a member of Sharon Baptist Church for many years. Laura is predeceased by her husband, Edward Carter. Laura is survived by her daughters, Paula (Bob) Gustafson of Buford, GA and Tina McMillan (Danny) Brooks of Charlotte; grandson, Nick Gustafson of Orlando FL; nieces, Sarah K. Younce, Mary K. Dula and Glenda K. Watson; nephew, Dr. W. Claude Baker Jr. of Bloomington, IN; one great-niece Christine Watson of Lenoir and Christine’s two children.

A Funeral Service will be held at McEwen Pineville Chapel on Tuesday November 10 at 11:30 am. The family will receive friends after the service, followed by the burial at Sharon Memorial Park.
