Born on September 14, 1948, in Concord, North Carolina, Linda was the daughter of the late John and Mary Helms. She devoted her life to caring for and educating children, teaching elementary school in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School System before later sharing her gifts as a preschool teacher in several churches throughout Charlotte.
Linda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Richard Behr; her children, Timi Daly and her husband Chris, and David Behr and his wife Holly; her beloved grandsons, Baxter and Wilkes Behr; and her sisters, Deane Grieve and Cadi McCraney.
Linda will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her dedication to education, and the love she poured into her family and the many children whose lives she touched.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026, beginning at 11:00 a.m. at McEwen Funeral Service, 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte, NC 28212.
