Linnette was born on November 23, 1956 in Lee County, NC where she grew up before moving to Charlotte, NC. She went on to attend the Culinary Arts program at CPCC and later became a Head Steward with Edison Chouest Offshore. Throughout her career, she was known for her hard work, dedication, and passion for baking and being at sea.
But more than anything, Linnette was a proud mother. She loved spending time with her children, sharing sea stories, and talking about her grandchildren's lives with friends and family. She was always there to offer guidance, support, and encouragement, no matter what challenges her family faced.
In her free time, Linnette enjoyed her dogs, baking, knitting, and watching her favorite Sci-Fi stories and documentaries. She was always eager to share her knowledge and enthusiasm with others.
Linnette is survived by her sons James Adam Efird and Cory Neal Efird, her grandchildren Kathryn Rose Efird, Melanie Faith Efird, Curtis James Efird, and Tianna Lee Efird, her brother Steven Hood, and her nephews Charles Douglas Hood and Samuel Wong Hung Hood.
Linnette was preceded in death by her mother, Christine Ray Coffer, and her father, Illie Linn Rice.
Anyone who knew her will feel this loss deeply, but will remember the good she brought into their lives.
