Lorena Virginia Jones-Melton

Born on February 10, 1924 in Linville, TN to Almond & Mattie Lou Stafford. She was the 7th of 10 siblings.

Mickey met the love of her life on her way to California after finishing high school. She married Vivian D. Jones July 29, 1945. They were married 50 years. Mickey was retired from the Belk’s South Park china department, where she had many loyal customers and friends. In her spare time you could find her

painting, in the garden, or at her sewing machine.

Mickey was preceded in death by her 1st husband Vivian, her 2nd husband Walter E. Melton, Sr., Son & daughter in law Philip & Libby Jones, Son in Law George Young, Stepson Walter E. Melton, Jr. as well as 6 sisters and 3 brothers. She is survived by her daughter Sherrie J. Young, Son Daniel T. Jones Sr and wife Jennifer of Yardley, PA., Stepdaughter Sylvia Ellison & stepdaughter in law Jane Melton, 4 grandchildren,

3 great grandchildren and 4 step grandchildren.

She was a faithful member of both Forest Hills Presbyterian Church and Avondale Presbyterian. Mickey was a long time volunteer with Charlotte Rescue Mission.

Memorial Service will be held on February 10, 2023 at 11:00am at Quail Hollow Presbyterian Church, 8801 Park Rd. Charlotte, NC 28210.
