Luz Emerita Escobar

Luz Emerita Escobar, 66, of Charlotte, died on Saturday, August 13, 2011 at

Presbyterian Hospital. She will always be remembered as a loving mother,

grandmother and sister. She was a wonderful friend to all that knew and

loved her. She will be missed.

Luz was born in Ecuador, South America on May 25, 1945 to Benito

and Rosa Suarez Escobar. She was a former IBM employee and was

currently employed at Wachovia/ Wells Fargo Bank in Charlotte, NC. Luz

was a member of Unity Church in Charlotte. She enjoyed discussing politics,

was an avid reader and gardener.

Survivors include her daughters Rose Toth-Cates and her husband Scott of

Charlotte, NC and Jessica Toth of Charlotte; one grandchild Petal

Cates of Charlotte; a brother Edmundo Escobar and a sister Lila Rosales

both of Ecuador.

A Memorial Service will be at 1:00 pm on Saturday, August 20th, 2011

at McEwen Funeral Service Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Rd., Charlotte,

NC 28210 with Rev. Nancy Ennis officiating. The family will receive friends

following the service at the funeral home. Memorials
