Lydia was born on April 24, 1935 in Manchester, England to the late Jim and Lydia Connolly. Lydia made Manchester her home, even through World War II, until she met the love of her life the late Tommy Hucks while he was serving in the United States Army Air Force and stationed at Burtonwood. The two would soon marry, start a family together in the United States and found Hucks Piggyback Service in 1962, a trucking company that continues to operate. Lydia loved spending time at the beach, especially when accompanied by family, shopping and the sweet taste of Cadbury chocolates.
Lydia leaves behind one daughter and one son; Linda Caudle (Daniel White) of Midland, NC, and Mike Hucks of Blair, SC. She leaves behind seven grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Alan Hucks, her two brothers, her sister, a grandchild and a great-grandchild.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to granddaughter Wendy Smith, for her compassionate care and loving support of "Nana" over the past several months.
