

Mangrum Lorenzo Kelly, Jr., 83, passed away on Tuesday, February 16th, 2016 at home in Lincolnton, NC. He was born on June 16th, 1932 in Roanoke, VA and grew up in Charlotte, NC. He was affectionately called Junior.
Some wonderful joys in his life:
• He began work as a long distance truck driver and retired from the Teamsters Union after 35 years.
• He joined the Masons of North Carolina & rose to the highest levels in the Masonic Lodge. He was raised in the lodge in 1968. He was a certified lecturer for 35 years and a Master Mason for 48 years. He was a past District Deputy Grand Lecturer. He became a lifetime member in 2000 of the Charles M. Setzer Lodge in Charlotte, NC. He is an honorary member of 5 other lodges.
Junior was married to Mary Frances Beaty of Charlotte, NC for 53 years before Frances passed away. Junior was fortunate enough to find a second love in Bonnie Willis who he married in 2003 to present. His hobbies included upholstery, wood working & puzzles.
Junior is survived by his spouse Bonnie of Lincolnton, NC; his children Butch Kelly, Debbie Willis Gibson, Jody Kelly & Charles Kelly. He has one living sister, Loretta Hinson. He has 15 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at the Paul Helton Chapel at Forest Lawn West Funeral Home on Friday, February 19th, 2016, visitation will begin at Noon, two hours prior to the memorial service which will begin at 2:00 pm with gravesite service to immediately follow with Masonic Rites at the same location. The address to Forest Lawn is 4601 Freedom Drive in Charlotte, NC 28208.
